Every end is a new begining!

Three days left. Three days to the end of an amazing experience that change my life. Sad? absolutely not. Why should I be? I share an entire year with lot of amazing people. This persons are the ones you want to be everywhere, and be beside you. I learn amazing things, how difficult life could be for someones but how easy was to change their life. I'm very happy, i feel complete. Everybody should sometime do this, not just to help other people, but also to help yourself and understand a little bit more of this amazing thing we call life.

In was repect the childrens in my school on Cap Haitien, I'm wordless. The progress they do was outstanding,  in a year, half of the class that have never see a book before know now how to write and read. I can't take all the merits, lot of people help in the progress. But I'm happy because I do a difference, I put my litle grain of sand, I do something meanful, I DO IT!

This kind of experience change everyone life and it's very recommended, it help you to find your way, your place in the world. How? Showing you things from another point of view, the oppisite! I don't want to say goodbye to this beautiful people, this amazing city, this wonderful country! That's why I'm goind to say: "BE RIGHT BACK"

Excursion

Yesterday was a long day. I arrived to my flat at 9 o'clock, unpacked my things and go eat something in a resaurant near. I was emotionaly exausted, too many emotions in a single day. But, there was no time to stop, that was my first rule, the second one is never forgot to enjoy. Like a ancient proverb said: "The moments aren't eternal, but memories make the moment unforgotables". My goal of the trip was to learn about this amazing experience that not everybody have the luck to have. This is what I thought to motivate my in the morning at 8a.m.
Why so early on the morning? Because I have already booked two months ago a excursion in bus of 5 day going to 3 amazings place in this beautiful country.

My first stop is at Jacmel, a village near the capital. Why is this an important place? This village is caracterise by only one thing that bring thousands and thousands of tourists every year: the black sand's beach. This beach could be considered like a normal one, except by the sand. This black sand was the product of a particular type of rock, the magnita. This village offers this extrange and awesome picture. The village was also really nice, it's there where I learn to do a local recipe. The "Ragú de carne a la jardinera". The recipe is a secret, but I can tell you one thing... IT'S DELICOUS!!

The next day we stay all day on the bus, stoping to eat or to strech our legs, travelling to our next stop: Cap Haïtien. This village is know by the extraordinarys beach and also by the ancient construction. The excursion was awesome, we arrive at morning, we go straigh to the beach, we stay until the sunset. After going to get a shower, we maid a guided tour with a local guide, she shows and teach us about this ancient buildings. I was having a great time but gues what, i get better. All the group went to the same restaurant "Les Crocodiles", categorized as one of the best restaurants in the country. I went to sleep about 12 o'clock happy and with a plenty belly.

The next stop was Port-au-Prince, where I was staying. After a 12 hour trip i arrived. I have to admit that in comparison with the villages I recently went, this city wasn't that good. It is like another big city, with a lot of noise and people. That conviced me that i didn't want to stay there, so i will go stay in the Cap Haitien and teach english in the local school. Maybe it was not the most inteligent idea but it was what i wanted, and that was enough for me. In what respect of Port-au-Prince ther is not much to say. You can comparit with Buenos Aires or Sao Pablo....

The begining of a new experience - Gap Year

Well, today was finally the big day! The prevoius night I packed my things and try to sleep (impossible for me). The next day I went to the airport with my whole familly at 11 a.m. After saying goodbye to everyone I did the check in. I waited 10 minutes in the freeshop and get on board. In the instant my foot touch the plane, I felt different. Why? Because deep down, I knew that a new chapter of my life was about to begin. I had never felt this way before, the hapiness was overflowing of my body, tears of joy ran over my cheeks, I said to myself: THIS IS IT!
After a 6 hour flight from Montevideo to Port-au-Prince, I finally arrived at my new home forthe next year. When I was just about landing, I snif a different smell, a smell that a inever sensed before, it was the smell of oporunities!
I saw the city from the sky and had a good hunch. I thought, "this is the right place and the right time to do something worthwile, my little grain of sand"

I took of the airport and went straigh to my new apartement, located on the middle of the city, that I rented for the next year. I knew it is not a big place but i thought, "the marvel of this country is outside, in the streets, in the people, not in a luxurious flat next to the traslucide water". I have to admit that in the other hand, i didn't have a lot of money to spend!

Even if Haiti is a beautiful place to spend the holidays, i'm here for a more important reason. Help the childs in africa, anda every person on the country to finish with the ileteracy on the country. Today the amount of people who can't read or write is 22%. If just one person in this huge group learn, my mision will be complete. Because I know i can't reduce this amount to 0%, but if everyone like my teach one children how to write and read, I know we can!
